Lighting Technician Showroom - Silver Legacy (Reno)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the movement and set up of various pieces of lighting equipment for separation of light and shadow or contrast, depth of field or visual effects.

ESSENTIAL DUITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following)

• Sets up and focuses lights
• Assists with the install and tear down of cables and equipment
• Lays electrical cables, wire fixtures, install color effects or image patterns, focus the lights, and assists in creating effects or programming sequences.
• Uses manual or computer controlled consoles to operate lighting throughout a performance
• Studies show scripts and consults with director to assess what lighting is required
• Repairs lighting fixtures as needed
• Places and focus lighting fixtures for any given scene as directed
• Patches and or wires lights to dimmers or electronic control consoles

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong decision making and high leadership experience preferred

At least 3-5 years theatrical lighting experience required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state gaming license

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT ( May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)

Work may be performed in an area, which may be unusually noisy and crowded

Mobility to include bending, reaching, prolonged standing and walking, accessing and lifting items from floor level to six feet high

Normal sense of smell, touch, sound and vision range

Eye / hand coordination and manual dexterity

Work area is subject to variable temperatures

Above average speech – both speaking and reading / writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
