Install, maintain, and repair two-way base station, mobile, and portable radio equipment, as well as emergency lighting, sirens, videotaping, and radar systems.

Responsibilities include :

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing emergency two-way radios, sirens, lighting, and related communication equipment in County vehicles.
  • Setting up, installing, diagnosing, and repairing base stations following security and communication policies to ensure efficient radio / field communications.
  • Requisitioning, ordering, and picking up parts.
  • Organizing and scheduling work.
  • Keeping daily repair records.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Note : You must complete the work history and education sections of the application to demonstrate the required experience and education; otherwise, you may be disqualified.

    To apply : Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent technical communications installation and repair experience.

    Must have two (2) full-time years of electronics / technical experience, including some experience repairing and securing radio / video equipment.

    Working knowledge of basic electricity, electronics communications, and protocols.

    Note : If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment during new hire processing.

    Tarrant County conducts background checks, including criminal history, financial reports, motor vehicle records, employment, and educational verification. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic disqualifier; each case is considered individually.

    While performing this position, the incumbent will be required to stoop, bend, climb, twist, and kneel.
