Floor Tech

Position Summary

Floor Technicians are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing buffing, shampooing, extraction, & bonneting) of areas that include offices, patient rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and others public areas, such as cafeterias.

Other required housekeeping duties may be assigned by the Floor Tech lead and Department Manager.

Employees in this job classification will maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by utilizing available resources and their maintenance skills.

Major Responsibilities

Floor Care skills and Critical thinking – 60%

• Performs maintenance duties related to the hospital grounds, i.e.

buffing, cleaning, stripping, and waxing floors.

Communication – 20%

Safety and Team Building – 20%
