Summary of Job Duties : This posting will fill multiple positions.

The Sterile Processing Technician is a vital part of our team at the Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital (TOSH) to provide the absolute best outcomes for our patients. This position decontaminates (disassembles, cleans by hand and / or machine) medical instruments & materials in the Sterile Processing Department. This is a position that has a lot of growth opportunities within the department and the healthcare profession.Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

High School, GED or formal educational equivalent

Ability to Follow Oral Instruction, Read and Write. Computer literacy in word / excel

Good communication skills

Preferred Experience :

Two (2) years SPD leadership experience preferred or Surgical Technical experience

Professional License / Certification : IAHCSMM / CBSPD Certified

CRCST / CIS

Sterile Processing Experience

Additional Information :

Responsibilities :

Decontaminate (dis-assemble, clean by hand and / or machine) medical instruments / materials.

Assemble and package, inspect and test instruments, re-assemble sets, place sets in proper containers and / or wrapping and load / transport loaded carts with prepared sets.

Maintain record of loads and items being removed from department for processing. Transport loads to and from CSS and prepare proper storage of instruments and equipment.

Use and test sterilizing equipment; perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves; perform diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer.

Record and accurately interpret results of tests; assist OR staff; help locate needed supplies and equipment.

Communicate professionally even when under pressure / fulfilling demanding and / or stressful requests.

Position revolves around serving the Operating Room's (OR's) sterile instrument and equipment needs.

Must understand the URGENCY of the OR staff's requests.

Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Manager.

Other related duties as assigned.
