Job Description

As a Security Professional - College Campus in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, helping to create a welcoming and secure environment. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management, all while providing outstanding customer service. You will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a visible presence and responding promptly to inquiries or concerns. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.

Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and / or credentials as required.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.

Assist with visitor management, including logging guests and providing directions or information as needed.

Support emergency response activities when appropriate, coordinating with Allied Universal and location personnel.

Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or access.

Communicate professionally with all individuals at the location, addressing inquiries and escalating concerns as necessary.

What We're Looking For :

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements :

Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.

Customer service experience is preferred.

CPR certification and / or First Aid certification is preferred.

Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
