Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an IN or compact license and at least 2 years of OR experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital

13 operating rooms handling all surgical specialties except transplant

Cases include Neuro, Ortho, General, Urology, Endo / Laparoscopic, Podiatry, and Robotics, with preferred experience in Vascular, Thoracic, Plastics, and ENT

1 : 1 patient ratio in the OR

Utilizes two Xi DaVinci robots

Cerner charting is used and experience with Cerner is required

Day shifts (5x8 hours), typically 7 : 00 to 15 : 30, with weekend shifts required

Rotating on-call coverage during weeknights and weekends

No floating required outside of the OR

Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialties

Scrub attire is provided by the facility

Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Free parking is available onsite

Local candidates are accepted for this Periop / OR position

Automatic approval for up to 5 days of requested time off

OR travelers are exempt from the IN RN employment ban effective 11 / 30 / 24

Requirements

Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of application

Current BCLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation required)

Minimum of 2 years recent OR RN experience (18 months may be considered)

Experience with surgical procedures in Neuro, Ortho, General, Urology, Endo / Laparoscopic, Podiatry, and Robotics

Experience with Cerner EMR required

First-time travelers are welcome

Perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
