Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of programming experience involving system analysis / design, with preference for those experienced in software lifecycle / change management. Understanding of core health insurance processes such as claims processing, provider data management, and member enrollment. Development experience within Unix AIX environments and proficiency with DB2 databases. COBOL expertise for maintaining and optimizing legacy systems. Solid understanding of embedded SQL, query performance tuning, and reporting practices. Proficient in Unix shell scripting and SQL programming. Familiarity with Visual Studio, Azure environments, and SQL Server a plus. Experience working with EDI formats like 834, 837, or 278 and knowledge of their corresponding standards. Experience in healthcare IT or payer-side operations is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of data security and compliance in healthcare systems is beneficial.
