Collections Specialist (B2B)
Location : Minneapolis, Minnesota Weekly onsite presence required. Local Minnesota applicants only.
Pay Rate : $29.00 - $34.00 / Hourly dependent on applicable experience

We're supporting a manufacturing client in Minneapolis that's looking to bring on a strong Collections Specialist to keep cash flow moving and partner closely with customers, sales, and accounting. If you enjoy digging into discrepancies, keeping the AR aging clean, and building relationships that make collections feel like collaboration instead of conflict, this is a great fit.
What you'll be doing :
Manage daily B2B collections across a high-volume manufacturing customer base
Monitor AR aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and drive timely resolution
Research short pays, chargebacks, tax issues, pricing discrepancies, and freight disputes
Partner with internal teams (sales, customer service, AP / AR, shipping) to resolve billing issues
Maintain accurate notes, follow-up schedules, and documentation in ERP / CRM systems
Process customer statements, demand letters, and escalation notices when appropriate
Assist with cash application support as needed (lockbox, ACH, wires)
Recommend accounts for credit hold, write-off, or further escalation
Support month-end AR close tasks and reporting
What we're looking for :
2+ years of B2B collections or AR experience, manufacturing industry preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers
Comfortable navigating disputes and driving resolution with a professional, proactive approach
Solid Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables a plus)
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, etc.)
High attention to detail with strong follow-through
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands
A problem-solving mindset, someone who enjoys "finding what's off" and fixing it
