Senior Mechanical Engineer

In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to :
- Assume the mechanical lead and be the Mechanical and Plumbing Engineer of Record (EOR) on many projects.
- Assume the mechanical lead and lead and coordinate mechanical and plumbing design through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
- Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Coordinate workload to complete the documents on schedule.
- Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Review mechanical and plumbing documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Write and edit mechanical and plumbing specifications and select mechanical and plumbing equipment, systems, and devices.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
- Provide construction contract administration as needed.
- Conduct QA / QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators, or Mechanical CAD / BIM Technicians as needed.
- Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work efforts with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule.
- Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller, and Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
- Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum ten (10) years' experience in mechanical and plumbing system design for federal, commercial, and / or institutional facilitiesWater / Wastewater, Science and Technology, Hospitality, and / or Finance facilities experience is a plusProject Management experience is a plusProficiency in Revit, Trane Trace3D, IESVE, or similar softwareExperience in sustainable design / LEED desired, but not requiredPreference given to local candidatesRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringA minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsProfessional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) licenseStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCADDemonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experiencePrevious experience with an architectural / engineering or engineering consulting firmAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position is $127,820 to $207,500 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
