The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium seeks a Pre Anesthesia Testing NP to join our team of Advanced Practice Professionals at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. As a Level II Trauma Center, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state. With over 30 specialties, we provide a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. Our unique patient population, breathtaking geography and cohesive team make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!

In this role you will perform Thorough chart reviews to identify potential risks or optimization needs prior to surgery. Conduct in-person and virtual patient evaluations to assess medical readiness for anesthesia and surgery. You will order, interpret, and when appropriate, perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work. And coordinate care with primary care, specialty, surgical, and anesthesia teams to address comorbidities or abnormal findings.

Work Schedule : Monday through Friday 5 - 8 hour days. 8am to 5pm

Required Qualifications : Certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant by an approved national certifying body; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification; State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse or PA License. Experience as an RN or NP managing patients in a General Surgery clinic; astute clinical skills; superior communication and relationship building skills; flexible team player; culturally sensitive experience caring for a native patient population.
