Assistant Buyer
The Merchandising Assistant Buyer is an individual contributor position that supports the Merchandising Department and works with replenishment, purchase orders, filing and other daily tasks. The Assistant Buyer is a Merchandising blended role that specializes in Men's, Women's & Children's western & work lifestyle footwear, clothing and accessories. The position reports to a Merchandising Buyer. This role requires a high degree of detail, analytical skill and productivity. The position must possess a driven, quality-focused mentality and be passionate about Merchandise. This role must be determined to deliver results through continuous improvement of their abilities and improvement of the department. The ability to work across multiple departments and alignment with Cavender's brand is required. This role has a strong focus on the customer experience, professionalism and partnership internal and external to Cavender's.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
- Serve as a partner and key support resource to the company
- Act as a senior support to junior Merchandising Assistants

High school diploma or equivalentExperience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook)3+ years of progressively successful Merchandising Department experience in a retail environmentAbility to interpret documentsAbility to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasksAbility to understand the meanings of words and effectively respondAbility to comprehend complex issues and communicateAssociate must be able to read English.Associate must be able to understand EnglishAssociate must be able to stay alert during work hours assignedBased in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residenceAbility to travel to meet the needs of the company, up to 10% of the timePreferred Skills
