Title of Position- Fire Protection Designer :
Design West Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team based out of our San Bernardino, CA office. As a Fire Protection Designer at Design West Engineering, you will have the opportunity to apply your design expertise to exciting and challenging projects while working under the supervision of top engineers in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess 2 years of experience as a Fire Protection Designer, Revit and AutoCAD experience, have excellent communication and time management skills, work well in a team environment, be familiar with commonly used business codes, and will be proficient with Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications :
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and RevitExcellent communication skillsAt least 2 years of experience as a Project Designer in Fire Protection Engineering.Ability to put a complete set of biddable construction documents together.Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA codesIndividual must be knowledgeable in commercial, educational, and / or municipal constructionMust be able to complete 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD / Revit.Possess a working knowledge of regularly used building codesComfortable working in an office environmentAbility to work both independently and with a team.Must have excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.Desired Qualifications :
A degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not requiredEIT, PE License, or demonstrated progress toward these goals.NICET Level 1 certificationJob Duties Will Include :
Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare construction documents for fire protection systemsPerform all applicable design calculations and fire protection system selections under the engineer's oversightConduct site surveys and attend coordination meetingsWork with the Project Manager to maintain project timelines and deadlinesCoordinate promptly with all parties involved in the projectTargeted Compensation :
$55,000- $70,000 per year, depending on qualificationsOpportunity for bonus twice per yearSummary of Personal Benefits :
