Must-Have :

  • Experience in PCU settings
  • Ability to float within skillset if needed
  • Weekend availability

Description :

  • Weekly starts available.
  • Shift hours are from 0700 to 1930.
  • The unit has 21 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 4.
  • Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
  • Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, hypoxia, and shortness of breath.
  • Recent surgical patients include those who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting and valve procedures, endarterectomy, and thoracotomy.
  • Patients may require high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, or CPAP.
  • Management of arterial lines and stable airways, including tracheostomies, is expected.
  • Procedures performed include arterial sheath removal, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and thrombolytic administration.
  • Assessments and therapeutic interventions are conducted every 2 to 4 hours.
  • Proficiency in monitoring equipment such as Vapotherm, IV pumps, and wound vacs is necessary.
  • Ability to titrate vasoactive drips including nicardipine and nitroglycerin is required.
  • Floatation to other units may be needed as necessary.
