RN or LPN Certified School Nurse Position

The Certified School Nurse (CSN) identifies and treatshealth conditions among students in the school setting. The CSN providesinstruction for the student's general wellbeing and disease prevention. TheCertified School Nurse must assess the student's physical condition in theschool setting and refer the student to appropriate resources as needed to besuccessful in school.

Minimum Requirements :

Current nursing license for the state in which the nursepractices

Certification or Credential in school nursing, required

One year prior school nursing experience required

Pediatric experience, preferred

Current CPR if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

General Comments

Day to Day Duties :

Med pass, diabetic / asthmatic students), charting, screening, general school nursing.

Another nurse will also be in the building

Group or 1 : 1 support (Paras, BTs, Nurses) :

School nurse, no 1 : 1

Start & End Date :

ASAP- TBD. Will be covering for our nurse who is on leave and unsure of a return date. Possibility this could go for the rest of the SY.

Start & End Time :

7 : 30am-4 : 00pm with a 30 min lunch
