Kind Of Work
Highly responsible technical and specialized supervisory work in the overall management and administration of computer networks and systems unique to the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. Duties include providing technical computer expertise for Sewerage and Water Board users as it relates to hardware, software, and network activities; coordinating with vendors and contractors; and offering technical assistance for problem solving. Work also includes budget development, fiscal management monitoring and reporting, and technical bid and RFP specifications for hardware, software and personal services; and related duties as required. Note : Employees in this classification may work a fixed or rotating shift, Saturdays and emergencies. Employees in this classification are considered essential and must report to work in declared emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
EITHER : A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), telecommunications or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment. Work must have included the following areas : web development; budget development and management; management of procurement for organization-wide information technology; drafting technical bids and Request For Proposal (RFP) specifications for hardware, software and personal services related to information technology; and monitoring and reporting. OR Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment which must have included the following areas : web development; budget development and management; management of procurement for organization-wide information technology; drafting technical bids and Request For Proposal (RFP) specifications for hardware, software and personal services related to information technology, and monitoring and reporting.
Hiring rate will be contingent upon an assessment of the applicant pool, candidate's verified experience, knowledge, and possession of related certifications.
This position requires a one year probationary period.
