Position Type :  Full Time, 40 hours / week, Exempt

Schedule : 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm, Monday - Friday

Your role with us

The value analysis analyst at Salem Health will drive cost-saving initiatives and quality improvements through data-driven analysis, market research, and stakeholder collaboration. This role will serve as a liaison between clinical departments, supply chain leadership, and vendors to optimize product utilization and contract negotiations. By leveraging market intelligence and project management skills, the analyst will identify opportunities for savings and improvement.

What you'll do

  • Perform complex data analysis to identify and pursue saving initiatives for all product and supply contracts, using market intelligence and research to assess opportunities for cost savings, standardization, and quality improvements.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders, including clinical executives, directors, managers, physicians, and Supply Chain leadership, and serve as a communications expert and liaison between stakeholders, including product standardization committees.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations with vendors, manage contract review and utilization for supply agreements, and direct product utilization review initiatives with clinical departments to understand business goals and user needs.
  • Develop, lead, and complete end-to-end value analysis project plans, meet contract deadlines, and optimize time spent for premium cost savings and quality improvement, while assessing the impact of product usage on financial and patient outcomes.
  • Conduct business reviews with vendors, manage complex bidding processes and sourcing opportunities, and track results of savings initiatives, while maintaining confidentiality of patient and financial information in all dealings with suppliers and non-hospital entities.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, where each year of higher education satisfies two years of experience.
  • Minimum three years of related experience in data analytics, supply chain management, or a healthcare related field that included demonstrated cost containment or data analysis.
  • Additional Information

    A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nursing, can provide a strong foundation for this role, while advanced degrees in nursing or business can also be beneficial for success

  • Candidates will thrive in this role by leveraging data analytics, problem-solving, and contract analysis skills to drive insights and inform decision-making.
  • Success in this role is supported by proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for presenting to multiple levels of stakeholders and driving positive business outcomes.
  • The ability to manage and implement process improvement initiatives is critical in this role, where candidates will work to optimize business processes and outcomes.
  • A background in clinical practices, product utilization, and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), as well as experience with Epic, can further enhance a candidate's ability to excel in this role, though strong negotiation skills are also valuable in this position.
