Community Security Director - Fairfield County, CT

Under the direction of the Secure Community Network (SCN) and the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County, the Community Security Director (CSD) will serve as a representative to the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County, as a security advisor, liaison, and training coordinator. The CSD will provide direction and maintain oversight for the development, organization, implementation, and monitoring of a security program.

The CSD will provide guidance and strategic direction to ensure the safety and security of the regional member institutions in the Greater Fairfield County Jewish community, serve as a liaison during crisis response and mitigation efforts to assist local incident commanders and / or serve as an incident commander during crisis response and mitigation efforts. The CSD will coordinate with federal, state, and local law enforcement, non-profit, public, private, and other stakeholder organizations on community safety and security matters.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

• Serve as a representative of SCN and the Federation to local and regional partners, including local, state, and regionally located federal law enforcement, non-profit, public, private, and other stakeholder organizations.
• Serve as a security advisor, and training coordinator, as well as an organizer of resources between the Federation, SCN and the Jewish organizations in the region.
• Be a liaison between the community and local, state and regional federal law enforcement on community safety and security matters, to include physical and cyber issues.
• Serve as the primary Federation point-of-contact for development and implementation of security plans and policies, which include (but are not limited to) emergency communication plans, mass notification systems, consultation on contract security post orders and protocols, crisis management plans, and physical security development and implementation for community facilities and organizations.
• Maintain relationships with professional and lay leadership of the community facilities and organizations and meet regularly with site personnel and state and local officials to share information and promote and review support provided by SCN and the Federation.
• Assist with special events security planning and implementation for community organizations and agencies in the area.
• Identify community relationship building opportunities to facilitate effective community action.
• Be able to communicate, internally and externally, a working knowledge of the Federation's mission, objectives, policies, positions, and relevant local, national, and world events, and assist partner entities in responding to inquiries from the media, based on coordinating with the Federation's Marketing and Communication team. Read and monitor media reports and opinion articles and assist the Federation and SCN's PR teams in responding.
• Receive, organize, and communicate (internally and externally) sensitive political, organizational, and societal information.
• Provide ongoing review of security programs for Federation partner agencies and serve as a resource to other Jewish community facilities, including synagogues, schools, and community centers.
• Prepare for meetings and issue reports and other correspondence for key leadership, including the National Director / CEO of SCN and the CEO of the Federation.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct threat, hazard, security, and resilience inspection / assessment activities, including the generation of Protective / Resilience Measure Indices based on industry standards, identifying vulnerabilities, and presenting recommendations to mitigate risk locally and regionally.
• Serve as subject matter expert for various committees in the area and ensure coordination and cooperation among Jewish community organizations in the region.
• Develop strong and effective partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency management agencies, and assist with plans and investigations of threats.
• Assist with developing, implementing, and testing all- hazards preparedness and response plans.
• Monitor intelligence related to terrorism and public safety. Analyze and disseminate information from local, national, international, and Israeli news media and intelligence network communication locally and to abroad.
• Provide training and education through security awareness to a wide range of community groups.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned, including assisting with the Federation's core responsibilities.

The target annual salary range for this position is $130,000-$140,000. F inal annual salary offered will be determined through a thorough assessment of multiple factors and criteria which may include candidate experience and qualifications, available market data, internal salary equity, and budget considerations.
