Location : Lorain, Ohio (44053) – Cleveland area healthcare jobs

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : PCU / Stepdown (1W)

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 14, 2026

Duration : 13-week nursing contract

Shift : 12-hour days (AM); every other weekend and holiday required

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,570 - $1,680

Patient Ratios : 1 : 4-5 days, 1 : 5-6 nights (acuity dependent)

Scrubs : Navy blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required for Ohio travel nurse jobs)

BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required)

Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available)

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or stepdown RN experience (required)

Experience with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients preferred

Proficiency in reading and verifying telemetry strips in EPIC

Travel nursing experience not required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans

Administer medications and manage drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)

Care for patients with PICC lines, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, foleys, chest tubes, NG tubes, and wound vacs

Provide airway management : trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, and nasal cannulas

Act as a patient advocate and coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Read and verify telemetry strips once per shift in EPIC

Educate patients and families, supporting them through illness and recovery

Maintain a safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication skills
