Mid-County Youth Hospital Intervention Program and Temecula Children's Behavioral Health Clinic
Perris and Temecula, CA
The Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health Department has an opening for a Senior Clinical Therapist position at the Mid-County Youth Hospital Intervention Program in Perris, CA and Temecula Children's Behavioral Health Clinic in Temecula, CA. This position will split time between both locations.

The certification list generated from this recruitment may be used to fill other future Senior Clinical Therapist vacancies within Behavioral Health that may occur.
The schedule for these positions will be a 4 / 10 with every Monday off.
Hours : Tuesday - Friday 7 : 30 am - 6 : 00 pm or 8 : 00 am to 6 : 30 pm.
Youth Hospital Intervention Program - (YHIP), Perris, CA
The County of Riverside's Behavioral Health Department - Youth Hospital Intervention Program has an opening for a Senior Clinical Therapist position. Youth Hospitalization Intervention Program (YHIP) works with children between the ages of 5 to 18 years old and is a time limited intensive program serving children that are at risk for psychiatric hospitalization. The aim of YHIP is to provide short term therapy to stabilized youth coming out of hospitals and linking them to treatment in outpatient programs. The position will provide supervision, oversight, and program management Clinical Therapist, Behavioral Health Specialist, Parent Partners, License Vocational Nurses, Psychiatry, and other office staff. The position will also participate in field work therefore a California Drivers License is required.
Children's Behavioral Health Clinic , Temecula, CA
The Children's Clinic provides services to children with severe emotional and behavioral problems. Services include psychiatric evaluations, medication services, individual and family therapy, and case management services. This position will provide supervision, oversight, program management alongside Clinical Therapist, Behavioral Health Specialist, Parent Partners, License Vocational Nurses, Psychiatry, and other office staff.
The Senior Clinical Therapist Classification
Under direction, performs the full range of therapeutic assignments related to the field of mental or behavioral health services and psychiatric social work, which includes the design and implementation of personalized treatment plans, individual and group psychotherapy, evaluations and investigations, and professional counseling, as applicable by professional licensing law, in order to meet the needs of consumers or families with mental or emotional disorders; and performs other related duties as required.
The Senior Clinical Therapist is the lead / advanced journey level of the Clinical Therapist series. The Senior Clinical Therapist class has responsibility for providing clinical supervision, according to licensure and training, over unlicensed clinical staff. This classification is also responsible for performing, within the scope of licensure, the full range of psychotherapy and counseling services for individual consumers, couples, families, and groups exhibiting a variety of mental health and related disorders in a clinic or institutional setting. Assignments range from moderately difficult to the most complex and include serving in a lead capacity over and providing consultative support to other mental health treatment staff.
This classification is distinguished from the class of Mental Health Services Supervisor in that the latter class is the first line supervisor responsible for the planning or implementation of specialized mental health services. The Senior Clinical Therapist is further distinguished from the Clinical Therapist II in that the former is the lead level and may provide extensive clinical supervision, according to licensure and training, over unlicensed clinical staff.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience : Two years of post-license professional experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting providing direct client services which must have included : client assessment and evaluation, development and implementation of appropriate treatment plans, providing psychotherapy or mental health counseling, and providing indirect services involving information, consultation, and educational services to staff and community.
AND
License : Possession of a valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Knowledge of : Psychological aspects of physical and emotional disturbances and mental deficiencies; characteristics of emotional and mental disorders including their effect on the individual in the community; mental health local community resources and community support systems; principles of clinical interviewing and methods of recording consumer information; individual licensing law and the scope of professional practice governed by the same; laws, rules, and regulations of publicly operated health and welfare programs; principles and techniques for making psychosocial assessments.
Ability to : Effectively apply the principles and techniques of clinical therapy, including a variety of treatment modalities; analyze consumer behavior and apply treatment or counseling techniques in a coordinated care social rehabilitation environment; speak and write effectively; provide crisis intervention; prepare clear and concise reports and interpret data; work effectively with a multicultural consumer and family population with diverse backgrounds and needs; establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, their families, other staff members, and mental health organizations / agencies; provide work direction and training to staff; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals and to work as part of a multidisciplinary team; communicate the goals and objectives of the County's mental and behavioral health services to members of the community and other interested individuals; consult with and assist in the professional development and supervision of unlicensed clinical therapists, within the scope of appropriate licensure, and other mental health support staff.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION : Voluntary employee contribution with a choice between two 457 deferred compensation plan options.
VACATION ACCRUAL (Bi-Weekly Accrual) :
10 or more years = 160 Hours (20 Days)
Maximum Vacation leave accumulation is 480 hours.
SICK LEAVE : Four (4) hours Sick Leave accrual per pay period with unlimited accrual.
HOLIDAYS : Normally 12 paid holidays per year.

BASIC LIFE INSURANCE : Equal to one times annual base salary not to exceed $50,000 of term life coverage. Premiums are paid by the County. Additional Supplemental Life plan is available for employee purchase.
DISABILITY :
Employees contribute to State Disability Insurance (SDI), which provides wage replacement benefits for individuals who are unable to work due to non-work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. SDI also includes Paid Family Leave Benefits. The wage replacement rate is determined by current law, offering 60-70% of the wages earned during the SDI eligibility period.
Additionally, employees receive employer-paid Long-Term Disability Benefits, which cover 66.67% of pre-disability earnings, up to a maximum of $10,000 per month. There is a 365-day waiting period before these benefits become active. Employees may coordinate these benefits with other available leave balances to receive up to 100% of their regular pay.
POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION : A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable SEIU Memorandum of Understanding.
