Job Description
The Sport Clubs Coach II (Cheer Club Head Coach) is responsible for the coaching of the assigned cheer club team(s).
Duties
General : Responsible for coordinating practices, game day routines and competition. Must be able to teach a wide array of participants from beginners to experienced high school and collegiate athletes. Properly instruct fundamentals and technique.
Administrative : The coach will assist club leadership with short and long-term goals and a plan of action for the academic year.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Two years head coaching experience coaching at the high school, junior college or collegiate club level and be a High School Graduate / GED. Candidates need to effectively communicate with a diverse student population, have demonstrated leadership skills, organizational skills and experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Hourly wage is commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience. This is a seasonal, hourly, part time position typically from July through May of the following year. Travel is required for competitions. Practices are typically 2-3 days per week August through May, with 25-30 games during the season (mainly in Southern California; though some out of state travel may be required). Typical schedule will be 2-20 hours weekly when classes are in session.
Position and Expected hiring range : $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
