This role is a contract placement that's estimated at 6 months with a potential for extension.
Our partner team seeks to modernize a legacy, error-prone procurement process that can drive downstream data issues such as unrealistic realized revenue, incorrect run-rates, and reporting inconsistencies.
We’re looking for a hands-on data engineer / analytics engineer who can rapidly learn the business, stand up an initial rules engine to flag scenarios with known error patterns (e.g., realized revenue >
contract value indicating erroneous entry), and then expand into proactive modeling / anomaly detection to identify new, unknown erroneous patterns.
Required Qualifications
- Must be local to the greater Seattle area and able to commute to Redmond regularly
- Demonstrated ability to translate messy business processes into robust data logic and controls.
- Strong stakeholder communication : can learn the business quickly and explain findings clearly to non-technical partners.
- 5+ years in data engineering / analytics engineering / BI engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills (dimensional modeling, semantic layer design).
- Experience building data pipelines and data quality frameworks in Azure-native tooling (e.g., Azure Data Factory / Synapse / Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL, Fabric—depending on what ISD uses).
- Power BI experience : data modeling, DAX fundamentals, performance considerations, and building actionable dashboards.
