Altro Paradiso is hiring an Experienced Full Time and Part-Time Server Assistants

From globally acclaimed chef Ignacio Mattos, Altro Paradiso is an Italian restaurant in the heart of SoHo and an essential New York City dining destination. The restaurant’s menu draws inspiration from several Italian regions, celebrating timeless craftsmanship throughout, while the room’s high ceilings and glimmering brass bar contribute to a lively nightly atmosphere. Since opening in 2016, Altro has garnered many devoted regulars, ranging from neighborhood residents to travelers who treat the restaurant like a second home whenever they’re in town.

The Server Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the service team and ensuring an excellent guest experience. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and flow of the dining room, assisting servers with table maintenance, running food and beverages, clearing plates and glassware, and resetting tables with efficiency and care. The Server Assistant is in constant communication with both the service and kitchen teams to help provide smooth, attentive service throughout the restaurant.

Dinner and weekend availability is required

Key Focus

Support servers by maintaining clean and organized tables and service stations.

Run food and beverages from the kitchen / bar to guests in a timely and professional manner.

Clear, reset, and re-mark tables as needed.

Assist with opening and closing side work, including completing daily checklists.

Maintain knowledge of table settings, dishware, and service standards.

Anticipate guest needs and contribute to a welcoming and hospitable environment.

Communicate effectively with the service team, management, and kitchen.

Follow Department of Health (DOH) standards and company policies.

Ensure all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service.

Maintain a welcoming and organized dining environment.

Respond promptly to guest needs and concerns, involving management when necessary.

Build positive relationships with repeat guests through attentiveness and professionalism.
