This is a hybrid position. The current onsite requirement is one day per week at CHW Butterworth Hospital but is subject to change depending on meetings presentations and academic needs.

Job Summary

Coordinates instructs evaluates and assists with developing educational programs for licensing credentialing and fulfillment of requirements for training of resident physicians medical students and other health professions learners.

Essential Functions

  • Instruction and Curriculum

Assists with translating program-developed curricula into final course delivery for learners (e.g. medical students resident physicians physician assistants)

  • Works with residency programs to identify instructional needs faculty facilitation and equipment for both required and optional skills / procedure sessions
  • Maintains awareness of local state national and specialty trends and standards
  • Uses media (e.g. video photography) to provide feedback to learners
  • Communication
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with partners affiliates and community health care providers.

  • Budget
  • Assists in development of departmental budget

  • Records
  • Maintains required records for all courses

  • Facilitates data collection for program / course evaluation
  • Equipment
  • Investigates evaluates and utilizes appropriate medical training equipment and supportive medical training technologies

    Coordinates equipment inventory distribution maintenance and service contracts

    Qualifications

    Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of clinical experience related to area of focus
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan upon hire
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days after hire Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association within 180 days after hire Or
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor (ACLS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association within 180 days after hire
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support Instructor (PALS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association within 180 days after hire
  • Preferred

  • Masters Degree in Nursing Education or Adult Education
  • Education and program development
  • 3 years of teaching experience
