Core responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, leading a small development team, and working closely with the President & Director and the Board of Trustees to meet annual and multi-year fundraising goals. Candidates for the Vice President of Development role at the company should be passionate about the humanities and possess a collaborative, empowering, and curious mindset. A bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of successful experience in development. The role demands exceptional communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, and a strong background in leadership, team management, and budget operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to close significant gifts, be proficient in CRM systems, and have a strategic approach to fundraising.
