Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized MV power converter system that is a Solid State replacement for the legacy MV transformer while enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. Responsibilities

Develop and implement controls for high voltage, bi-directional power electronics as well as algorithms for system power management. You will play a key role in developing high-reliability controls to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable energy delivery.

  • Collaborate with power electronics design engineers to select power converter topologies and microcontrollers / processors for PWM control
  • Simulate and validate control algorithms using tools such as MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS
  • Implement controls and protections using advanced hardware peripherals to ensure high efficiency switching and safe operation
  • Use Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms for development and regression testing
  • Build features to meet compliance standards and take the product through compliance testing

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent industry experience in electronics engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in DC / DC converter and Active Front End controls
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and high proficiency in C / C++ coding
  • Hands on experience with simulation tools like MATLAB, PLECS, LT SPICE as well as scripting languages like Python
  • Experience with grid-connected power systems, including grid-forming or grid-following inverter controls and related compliance standards
  • Shipped a power electronics converter and went through all stages from design and board bring-up to compliance certification and product ramp
  • Excellent written and verbal communications in English
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
