Works Closely With : Chief Development Officer and Resource Development Team

The Development Coordinator is the backbone and heart of The Women’s Home Resource Development Department. This key role will support the fund-raising team by providing skillful database management and analysis, with the ability to execute the essential responsibilities of gift processing, mailing list generation, detailed and diverse reports and monthly reconciliation reports. This individual will also support the Resource Development team by writing smaller grant proposals, performing donor prospect research, and providing administrative support.

I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Record Keeping and Data Entry :
- Manages gift processing for Raiser’s Edge NXT system, including processing donor data from source documents, updating, and editing donor database files, and performing other information-handling functions.
- Produces donor acknowledgment letters, solicitation letters, and other sensitive correspondence in a timely manner.
- Oversees database clean-up, maintenance, and constituent record updates.
- Builds complex queries as needed to prepare reports for appeals, donor recognition and all other development office functions including the monthly reconcile of revenue.
- Maintains gift entry procedures, and processes pledges / gift for all campaigns accordingly.
- Responds promptly to and resolves revenue-related customer service inquiries in a professional manner.
- Data Management :
- Leverages constituent data for the advancement of the organization’s goals and explores new opportunities to capture information or more efficiently manage relationships.
- Develops and performs daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual audits to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
- Special Events
- Assist Chief Development Officer and Development Manager in planning, production, and execution of fundraising events for The Women’s Home.
- Process ticket payment and sponsorships online using an online fundraising platform.
- Manages reservations for special events and special requests of guests / attendees as needed.
- Assist in the design and creation of event collateral materials including sponsorship packets, invitations, and other items as needed.
- Grant Writing and Reporting
- Writes grants and completes grant reports under the direction of the VP of Grants and Evaluation.
- Assists with the preparation of grant attachment packages and larger grant requests including applications for public funding.
- Researches new grant opportunities and conducts foundation research.
- Helps update charity giving profiles (i.e., Charity Navigator, GuideStar, etc.) as needed.
- Development Support Activities
- Provides administrative support to Chief Development Officer and other team members as requested.
- Assists with the development and implementation of mailings, invitations, communication materials for appeals and other stewardship activites.
- Manages e-newsletter and social media platforms for the agency.
- Prepares background information and does research for select donor meetings.
- Assembles folders for meetings and keeps materials up to date.
- Takes and maintains meeting minutes for Resource Development Committee
- Other duties as assigned.
II. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.1 - 2 years of data management / donor stewardship experience in a similar environment.1 - 2 years of grant writing or grant coordination in a similar environment.Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Proactive team member with a desire to learn and grow.Experience using / managing donor database software. Experience and proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT are preferred.Experience in using Microsoft Office Applications, proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point preferred.Experience with graphic design and Adobe Create Suite a plus.Flexibility and adaptability as the position grows and changes.Ability to work as a team member with a variety of people.A person in this position must be able to sit and stand for long periods; use a computer keyboard and monitor for long periods; and be able to lift and carry 20 lbs.Reasonable Accommodation Notice :
