Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will focus on managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely payments while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic service-oriented organization.

Responsibilities :

• Communicate with customers daily to follow up on upcoming, overdue, or outstanding invoices.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounts receivable aging items and payment discrepancies.
• Process credits and write-offs as needed, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Coordinate with cash application specialists to confirm receipt of payments and update account statuses.
• Maintain detailed documentation of communications, transactions, and resolutions for audit purposes.
• Provide clear and concise updates to internal stakeholders regarding account statuses and payment progress.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and generate reports related to collections.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective judgment in handling customer inquiries and resolving disputes.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the collections process. Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in collections, preferably in commercial or consumer settings.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in collection processes, billing collection, and credit management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure while managing a high-volume workload.
• Willingness to meet in-person requirements to fulfill team and business needs.
