Job Title : Regional Field Safety Trainer
Location : Based in Phoenix, Arizona (preferably), Reno, Nevada, or Salt Lake City, Utah with frequent travel throughout Utah and Nevada
Job Description :
Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and conducting safety and technical training programs to regional personnel across Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. Assists the Region with jobsite safety audits and communicates and enforces regional and corporate policies and procedures. The incumbent works under direct supervision of the Region Manager and may have additional responsibilities as directed. This position requires a high emphasis on the Asplundh's training process, the Line Clearance Qualification Standard (LCQS). This will entail training and ensuring that all individuals performing the jobs have proper training and certifications, and that the LCQS training is being administered and performed properly at all levels.
Responsibilities & Expectations :
- Serves as a technical "expert" for all corporate and regional training programs and provides technical support to region personnel.
- Organizes, schedules, and conducts all regional required training programs to include :

Line Clearance Qualification Standard (LCQS)Driver Management Program (DMP)First Aid / CPRTree FellingBasic & Advanced RiggingBasic & Advanced ClimbingElectrical Hazard AwarenessLift / Manual RescueLift & Specialty Equipment operationsOther region-specific training as requiredConducts regular job site inspections and / or Job Behavior Observations (JBO's). The objectives of Safety Management.Provides General Foreperson LCQS training and conducts GF mentoring program.Reviews and evaluates worker's LCQS and safety training tracking, completion, and progress to ensure compliance with regional training requirements.Works with the region GFs and regional office to monitor files for compliance with required documentation, as specified by corporate and region policy.During job site visits, identifies job site hazards, reviews Job Briefings, provides training, feedback, and coaching to field personnel.Ensures personnel compliance with all corporate and regional policies and procedures.Evaluates Crew Foreperson knowledge of their safety training responsibilities.Observing and reporting on proper work techniques in accordance with the Foreperson's Manual and Region Policy Manual.Perform vehicle inspections and DOT Assessments. Reviews Driver Vehicle Inspection Record and driver credentials.Recommends changes in procedures, processes, design, or equipment.Ensures that all adverse events (accidents / incidents) are properly reported and documented.Assists with the Incident Investigation Management process as needed for all accidents and incidents.Researches and reviews current and newly developed industry related techniques, processes, equipment, and training to implement into regional operations as authorized by the region manager.Participate in continuing education, training seminars, and professional development relating to professional responsibilities.Minimum Requirements :
5+ years' experience in line clearance tree trimming industry, LCQS completions through Foreman, and previous experience as foreman or above.Strong and robust oral and written communication skills with an ability to create, communicate, and deliver training presentations at a management level.Strong and robust computer skills with an ability to communicate, create reports / presentations, and maintain tracking.Must be able to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills.The ability to adapt to changing conditions, priorities, and requirements, as well as the need to rapidly learn new skills.The ability to conduct effective training and evaluations.Extensive air and auto travel throughout Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.Must be able to pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen.Must be able to traverse various rugged terrain and adverse environmental conditions.Required License & Certifications :
Valid Driver's License required, valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferredValid DOT Medical Card required.ISA Certified Arborist / Utility Specialist certificationsEducation & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.Pre-Screen
