Founded in 1998, the UCI School of Medicine's Hospitalist Program is one of nation's first. It focuses on clinical care, education, improvement in quality of care and patient safety in the hospital environment.

Your Role on the Team

The position of Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine &

Palliative Medicine, requires a highly competent, independent yet team-oriented individual who will be

immersed in Hospital Medicine. Under the general supervision of Alpesh Amin, MD and guided by the

applicable policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner will participate in the comprehensive care of

patients in the ambulatory or inpatient settings and provide multi-disciplinary care coordination,

treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians. A Nurse

Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who possesses the advanced education, knowledge,

clinical skills, and experience necessary to provide advanced nursing care in their area of specialization.

This position may perform :

• Functions as appropriate to their "scope of practice" (In general, the "scope of practice" includes

the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and

medical and surgical procedures per their approved standardized procedure). Familiarity with state

statute for their licenses is necessary.
