About The Position

Position Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to join our healthcare team for a 12-week contract assignment in Saranac Lake, NY . The ideal candidate will have strong experience in gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, preparation of specimens for microscopic evaluation, and support for autopsy services. You will work closely with pathologists to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical tissue specimens.
• Prepare tissue samples for histologic processing and assist in frozen section procedures.
• Conduct postmortem examinations, including specimen collection and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and quality control protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and proper specimen labelling for traceability.
• Collaborate with pathologists, lab technologists, and other healthcare staff to support patient care.
