Senior Associate – Investment Operations & Portfolio Reporting
Position Summary
The Senior Associate will support trading operations, portfolio reporting, private investment tracking, and fund / management company accounting. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical rigor, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-strategy investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Public Markets & Trading Operations
- Support daily trade operations, including trade booking, broker allocations, reconciliations, and settlement follow-ups.
- Help maintain a streamlined trading operations workflow, coordinating with internal teams and external counterparties such as prime brokers and custodians.
- Monitor daily trade activity, ensure accurate allocation of transactions, and assist in resolving breaks or settlement issues.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly flash P&L reports and performance summaries, including analysis of exposures, sector performance, and key return drivers.
- Help develop and maintain portfolio dashboards for exposure, attribution, and benchmark comparison.
- Update and reconcile holdings data and assist with preparation of reporting packages for investment leadership.
- Track private investments, including valuations, capital calls, distributions, and fund-level reporting.
- Support liquidity and cash-flow oversight for private and public investments.
- Coordinate with external fund managers and investment partners as needed.
Accounting, Controls & Administration
Assist with monthly close processes, cash management, and general accounting tasks (AP / AR, vendor payments, expense allocations).Support fund-level accounting, including expense allocations and incentive fee calculations.Maintain documentation of operational processes and accounting procedures.Operational Improvements & Process Documentation
Identify opportunities to automate or streamline workflows using tools such as Excel / VBA or reporting scripts.Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures.Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements.Adapt across tasks and contribute proactively within a small, dynamic team.Qualifications
2–6 years of experience in investment operations, fund accounting, middle / back office, hedge fund operations, or public accounting.Familiarity with public‑markets trading workflows and trade support; experience with equities or derivatives is a plus.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret P&L, exposures, and performance metrics.Advanced Excel skills and willingness to build automation or reporting enhancements.Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities with flexibility and sound judgment.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA or similar credentials are beneficial but not required.Seniority Level
