Job Description :
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for conducting in-depth job-task analyses and needs assessments to determine appropriate training solutions and other performance improvement strategies. These may include management reinforcement, role clarity, job aids, and rewards systems. The individual will develop goals, objectives, and modular content for training programs that are considered moderately complex in nature.
This position requires the ability to use template-based e-learning applications in a sophisticated manner to design engaging and interactive learning products. The Instructional Designer will also develop evaluation strategies to ensure that defined learning outcomes are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth job-task analyses and needs assessments to identify learning objectives and determine training and performance enhancement solutions such as management reinforcement, role clarity, job aids, and more.
- Collaborate with team members to define individual training program goals, overall program objectives, and module-specific targets. Ensure all training aligns with job requirements and enhances employee performance.
- Apply principles of instructional design theory to create course content, working closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and e-learning specialists. At this level, the candidate is expected to develop new training programs from the ground up, beginning with a formal analysis of training needs, with some managerial guidance.
- Utilize knowledge of adult learning theory to select appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, content type, location, and stage in the learning process. Training may be delivered through traditional classroom settings, online platforms, self-paced modules, or blended approaches. Methodologies may include group lectures, role-playing, simulation exercises, self-study, on-the-job training, and computer-based instruction.
- Partner with e-learning specialists to develop advanced e-learning programs and applications.
- Research, select, and adapt existing training curricula, content, materials, and job aids to meet identified learning needs.
- Review program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness to provide recommendations for ongoing program improvements.
