Lighting classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 : 20 AM -1 : 50 PM in the Fall and 8 : 30 AM -11 : 00 AM in the Spring. Minimum Qualifications Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty’s teaching assignment
OR
Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area

Desirable Qualifications Prior teaching experience within the topics of theatrical and event lighting.Strong working knowledge and experience with ETC lighting consoles, lighting networking, and various intelligent lighting fixtures.Familiarity with show control and DMX peripherals.Software experience with ETC Nomad, ETC Augment, Vectorworks, and Lightwright.Understanding of CTE program objectives with a robust background in theatrical electrician work at a theme park or entertainment venue.LMS experience / training (canvas).
Detailed experience teaching technical theatre courses, especially introductory classes, with innovative teaching practices supporting success and retention of women, students of color and students with disabilities.
Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and / or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students achieve their educational goals.
