Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Details

Position Type : Locum Tenens Hematology / Oncology Physician (travel contract)

Location : On-site in Reidsville, NC – North Carolina healthcare job

Specialty : Hematology / Oncology (focus on benign hematology)

Start Date : January 19, 2026

End Date : July 20, 2026

Duration : 26 weeks

Shift : Day shift, 3x9-hour shifts per week (08 : 00 – 17 : 00)

Patient Census : Minimum 15 adult hematology patients per day

Support Staff : Nurses, Navigator, Admin Support, Pharmacy, 1-2 physicians, APPs, Infusion Specialist

EMR : EPIC (assessment required prior to start)

Travel : Flight, rental car, and lodging provided for locum tenens physicians

Estimated Weekly Salary : $13,650 - $14,620 per week

Physician Qualifications

Board Certification in Hematology or Oncology (double board-certified preferred; Oncology board required for oncology patients)

Active North Carolina state medical license

DEA certification

BLS certification

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Hematology / Oncology jobs

Experience with EPIC EMR (assessment required)

Credentialing timeframe : 60-90 days

Key Responsibilities

Deliver ambulatory clinic care for hematology patients, including follow-ups and new consultations

Write orders and prescriptions; communicate effectively with pharmacy and clinical support staff

Manage benign hematology and general Hem / Onc cases in a clinical setting

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR
