Pharmacy Technician - Processing / Front-End

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Pharmacy Technician to join our team, focusing on front-end and processing tasks. This role involves answering phones, processing prescription refills and new prescriptions, and assisting walk-in customers. The ideal candidate will rotate between the processing area and the front desk, contributing to both primary and secondary functions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and process refills and new prescriptions using pharmacy software.
  • Assist walk-in customers at the front desk with all will call transactions.
  • Take voicemails from the inbox and triage calls to pharmacists in the processing room.
  • Fax prescribers with refill requests and assist processing pharmacists with small projects.
  • Rotate between the processing area and front desk, performing duties as needed.
  • Sort hard copies, cut bubble wrap for shipping, and shred PHI.
  • Perform organizational tasks as needed.
  • Lift and move containers weighing up to 20 lbs.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in any pharmacy setting.
  • Customer service experience in any setting.
  • Ability to multitask, such as talking on the phone while using the computer.
  • Excellent data entry and typing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pharmacy software systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and motivation to meet performance metrics.
  • Proven history of reliability and positive attendance.
  • Work Environment

    The position operates within a call-center-like environment on the 2nd floor, featuring low cubicle walls. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with an every third Saturday requirement. Shifts rotate weekly, requiring flexibility to work opening, mid, or closing hours. Employees must have a dedicated pair of lab shoes stored in their locker, which must be closed-toed and made of solid material.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00 / hr.
