About The Position

We are seeking experienced Monitor Technicians to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial for patient safety, requiring precise and consistent cardiac rhythm monitoring.

Overview of the Role

The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms for assigned patients and promptly alerting the nursing staff to any significant dysrhythmias . Your quick recognition and communication ensure that appropriate and timely therapeutic interventions can be initiated.

Schedule : 12-hour shifts; Day shift (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM) and Night shift (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) are available. 1 shift per week

Work Environment : Monitoring patients in a unit with approximately 36 beds .

Nature of Need : This position is sporadic ; candidates must understand that there may be weeks without a required shift.

Orientation : Please note there is no formal orientation provided for this role.

Physical Demands : Minimal to light physical demands, including occasional walking / standing and pushing / pulling of arm / leg controls (10-20 lbs).

Job Requirements

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of specialty experience as a Monitor Technician within the last 2 years .

Certification : Must possess a current, up-to-date, EKG / ECG Completion Course certification (typically an 18 to 50-hour course) or hold a National Certification as a Monitor Technician.

BLS Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.

Fire Card (Specific Location) : Candidates for the PHGSH location must obtain a LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment.
