As a Charge Nurse LVN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care, supervising CNAs, and supporting the clinical needs of our Veterans. This position ensures residents receive compassionate, safe, and timely care in accordance with facility standards.

Position Summary
The Charge Nurse LVN provides hands-on resident care and supervises CNAs during assigned shifts. This role ensures accurate documentation, effective communication, and adherence to care plans, promoting a positive and therapeutic environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise CNAs and support nursing staff to ensure care tasks are completed properly.Provide direct care including medication administration, treatments, and nursing procedures.Admit, transfer, discharge, and document resident status accurately.Conduct routine rounds to verify proper care and identify resident needs.Communicate changes in resident condition to supervisors, physicians, and families.Complete incident reports and support follow-up actions as directed.Chart nurses' notes, orders, and other required documentation thoroughly and promptly.Maintain accurate medication administration and narcotic records.Ensure resident rooms are prepared for new admissions and support resident orientations.Support infection-control programs and safety procedures.Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.Participate in staff training, in-services, and quality improvement efforts.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Active, unencumbered Texas LVN license.Strong clinical skills and ability to make sound decisions.Experience in long-term care preferred.Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff.Ability to manage stress, emergencies, and complex resident needs.Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsWork performed indoors with regular resident interaction.Requires lifting, bending, standing, walking, and performing hands-on nursing care.Exposure to infectious materials; must follow appropriate safety protocols.Must be able to assist with resident lifting and evacuation procedures.Ability to handle emotionally challenging situations with professionalism.Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
