Position Overview
The Collections Specialist is responsible for following up with invoices that have been sent to payers but have not yet been paid. This individual is also responsible for researching denials and converting them.
The starting pay for our Collections team is $19.00 per hour. Essential Job Functions
Process at least 5 claims per hourManage a portfolio of payers, ensuring collections, aging and denials are being processed in a timely fashionAssist with billing efforts by eliminating denials and keeping payer rules up to datePerform month end reconciliation; assisting other departments as neededMeet daily, monthly and quarterly collection goals set by managementEnsure work being performed meets internal and external compliance requirementsRequirements
High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years related experience in Medical Insurance Collections; healthcare, medical office, customer service requiredProficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and ExcelStrong basic math and accounting skillsProven ability to manage in a high call volume environment with accuracy and efficiencyOther Skills / Abilities
