JOB DESCRIPTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST :
Re-evaluates and modifies programs as indicated, but at least monthly.
Is responsible for home assessments prior to in resident discharge,
resident / family training, and procuring equipment as necessary.
Documents pertinent information in a clear and precise manner in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payor and accrediting requirements. Attends / assists in rehab team meetings, resident / family team meetings, home assessments, staff development and inservices.
May represent the Rehab Department at facility committee meetings.
Assists in the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant’s job performance review annually and more often as necessary.
Is responsible for care and usage of equipment, space, and supplies.
Advises the Rehab Director of supply and equipment repair needs, etc.
Plans daily schedule to maintain the expected standard of productivity; coordinates schedule with the other therapy disciplines to maximize team effectiveness.
Provides the necessary accurate billing information regularly and as requested in a timely manner to the Rehab Director.
Provides for staff training, inservice and orientation as assigned.
Provides for family training, discharge planning, and follow-up recommendations.
Supervises occupational therapy students (as applicable). May act as clinical instructor for student affiliations.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Rehab Director. Maintains good working rapport with all department staff, facility staff and physicians, residents and families.
