This position reports to Regional Service Manager - Western US.

Your role and responsibilities :

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. DCS Associate Field Service Technician's perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, supporting the technical point while delivering quality service. As a DCS Associate Field Service Technician in Phoenix, AZ, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team based on customer / contract requirements. The work model for the role is : Remote This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division. You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Support site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation utilizing the ABB S-Plus Distributed Control System.
  • All periodic, routine, preventive maintenance and shutdown support will be supported by you as part of your role (ABB Senior Technical and Advanced Services will provide lead support until your training period is complete).
  • Help troubleshoot low complexity to medium complexity tasks associated with the distributed control system hardware, software issues, and manage technical support requests on the customers behalf to optimize system performance.
  • Suggest ABB solutions to enhance system performance and expand scope of value-add service to the existing contract.

Qualifications for the role :

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a special combination of education and military experience and / or demonstrated accomplishments will be considered.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cyber security, and ABB 800xA Distributed Control System is a plus. NOTE : Formal training, on-the-job training, and mentorship will be provided to instill confidence in providing outstanding field service support.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed to accommodate numerous customer responsibilities. Must be willing to maintain overnight travel of 80%.
  • Process automation work experience. Understanding of systems maintenance, configuration, and process control is ideal.
  • A demonstrated commitment to excellence, effective communication, problem solving, teamwork, technical orientation, customer focus, and a professional attitude.
  • Applicants must speak fluent English, have a legal driver's license, and have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
