Position : Welder - 2nd shift

Team : Fabrication Team

Primary Objective of Position :

A Welder is responsible for setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes. A Welder works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards.

Major Areas of Accountability :

• Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW.
• Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material.
• Read drawings and routings to determine method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances and welding specifications, to include proper filler materials, fluxes and weld machine settings.
• Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment.
• Uses portable electric or air driven grinding or chipping equipment.
• Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components.
• Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report.
• Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in other areas fabricating parts and brazing.
• Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.
• Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
• Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!
