job_description.job_card.job_descriptionDiagnose and treat psychiatric disorders. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations. Document all clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR). Collaborate with the medical and interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with the Department of Justice (DOJ) Settlement Agreement. Provide medication management, including justification and monitoring of psychotropic medication use. Manage acute psychiatric episodes, authorize emergency medications or restraints, and coordinate hospitalizations when necessary. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team (IDT) meetings and contribute to individualized care planning. Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and internal clinical standards (DOJ, ICF-IID, etc.). Provide consultation and support to behavioral health and direct care staff. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Interact appropriately and compassionately with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Complete all required agency-specific and state-mandated training prior to assuming full duties. Participate in emergency preparedness and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) activities as assigned. Adelphi is seeking a dedicated part-time Psychiatrist to provide onsite psychiatric care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a facility in Nueces County, Texas. The Psychiatrist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, conducting evaluations, managing medications, and developing treatment plans to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

- Must pass a urine drug screening and FBI fingerprint background check
- Valid government-issued photo ID required
