The role is based at the Plane Creek Mill and will suit someone who is self-motivated and doesn't need close supervision. Previous related experience is not essential and we will provide training for a person who displays the right aptitude and team fit.

The role may be Seasonal or Permanent dependent on the successful candidate's year round skill set and this will be determined on a case by case basis by Management. The position involves continuous shift work during the crushing season, weekend work and some overtime may be required.

Primary responsibilities :

  • Monitor and operate the juice heaters, clarification, mud filtration, evaporators and syrup production process
  • Safely work with and prepare production chemicals (Flocculants, Caustic Soda, EDTA, Sulphamic acid, Sodium Gluconate) following safe work practices and using appropriate safety equipment including PPE.
  • Safely conduct chemical cleaning of primary & secondary heaters and Evaporator set
  • Monitor and operate the Evaporator computers and CITEC control system
  • Complete regular housekeeping in Evaporator area and surrounding plant
  • Regular inspection of plant and equipment, report maintenance issues to Operations Co-ordinator
  • Completion of logbook and data collection

Specific Requirements :

  • Confined space entry and Working at heights qualifications, or ability to obtain
  • Qualified Fitter, Boilermaker or Electrical Tradesperson (desirable)
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a whole range of people
  • A true team player who understands the value of teamwork and doesn't need to be asked to contribute
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Someone who takes personal responsibility and accountability seriously
