DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Manages, secures, and maintains the integrity of student attendance records and records systems, ensuring alignment with TAEOP requirements
- Provides technical and administrative leadership in the truancy process
- Monitors and reports on program outcomes
- Manages the TAOEP grant, ensuring compliance with state requirements and timely preparation and submission of reports and data.
- Monitors the use of grant funds and works closely with the finance department to ensure proper allocation and tracking.
- Collaborates with the Director of Attendance and Community Engagement to ensure alignment of program goals with district initiatives.
- Analyzes attendance data to identify trends, gaps, and successes at schools with highest rates of chronic absenteeism
- Uses data to inform the allocation of resources and interventions to schools with the greatest need.
- Recruits, trains, and motivates staff, providing direction and regular feedback to optimize team performance.
- Develops and leads training sessions for attendance specialists, school leaders, and staff on best practices for improving attendance and reducing truancy focusing on those schools with the highest chronic absentee rates.
- Provides ongoing coaching and support to attendance specialists, and using a data driven approach, provides targeted support to attendance specialists in schools with high rates of chronic absenteeism
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in social services, education, business, or other related field. Minimum of 3 years related experience in a school or administrative environment preferred. Experience working in diverse communities required. Previous leadership experience preferred.

WORK CALENDAR : 12 Months
WORKING CONDITIONS : Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
