Senior Software Engineer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands.

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a 6-month remote contract opportunity based out of Rochester, Minnesota. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams to deliver on-demand incident resolution, perform maintenance, and implement system upgrades and security modifications for a mission-critical application in the healthcare space.

There is no application deadline for this role.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities :

Provide on-demand incident management and resolution to ensure systems function as required.

Maintain accurate content in knowledgebase articles.

Track and analyze patterns in incidents to suggest improvements and reduce recurrence.

Implement vended solution upgrades, server / network environment updates, and security modifications.

Manage and prioritize maintenance requests through the intake process.

Deliver minor enhancements and issue fixes, ensuring quality through verification processes.

Senior Software Engineer Qualifications :

Proficiency with ServiceNow and Microsoft SharePoint.

Experience developing in React, C#, and JavaScript.

Strong understanding of Java.

Skilled in installation, upgrades, and configuration of vended solutions.

Ability to create user-friendly interfaces and follow the full development lifecycle.

Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

Experience with healthcare technologies (preferred).

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

3–8+ years of full-stack development experience (.NET & Angular required).

Azure / DevOps / ServiceNow experience is a plus (training available if needed).

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3–5+ years of experience, or 6+ years of progressive experience in lieu of a degree.

Proficient in backend programming (PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript) and front-end frameworks (AngularJS, KnockoutJS, jQuery).

Knowledge of CMS platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Drupal, WordPress).

Understanding of security / data protection, application optimization, and UI / UX principles.
