Evidence Clerk I (Iowa City)

The Johnson County Sheriffs Office is currently seeking an Evidence Clerk I to handle, organize, and maintain evidence and property by processing, storing, tracking, and disposing of items in coordination with other staff. Support case development and criminal prosecution and ensure seized or lost items are returned to their rightful owners. Maintain records of all departmental inventory, issues items to personnel as needed, and manages a wide range of property including cash, drugs, jewelry, weapons, electronics, and potentially hazardous materials.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

Qualified applicants must be detail oriented. Must have high school graduate (or equivalent) and six (6) months of responsible clerical work experience and previous law enforcement academy graduation experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
