Information Technology Manager
Tessera is seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven IT Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of information technology operations supporting the Utilities Department and broader infrastructure at the United States Air Force Academy. This role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team of technicians and analysts who maintain SCADA, EMCS, fire alarm systems, and cybersecurity protocols. The IT Manager ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the secure stewardship of both Tessera-managed and government-owned assets.

Essential Duties :
Lead and mentor IT staff managing SCADA, EMCS, fire alarm systems, and Tier I / II supportOversee diagnostics, programming, and maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, and instrumentationEnsure compliance with NFPA 72, UFC 3-601-02, and DoD cybersecurity standardsManage EMCS operations to optimize HVAC and energy performanceSupervise cybersecurity assessments, threat monitoring, and protective measuresMaintain regulatory reporting, SOPs, system logs, and asset documentationCoordinate with engineers, vendors, and USAFA stakeholders on technology upgradesEnsure lifecycle management and security of Tessera and government IT assetsRespond to emergencies and manage after-hours support rotationsDrive infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and preventive maintenancePromote safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across all IT operationsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management roleStrong knowledge of ICS / SCADA systems, EMCS platforms, fire alarm standards, and OT cybersecurityProficiency in programming languages (C, C++, Python, Java) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, RTOS)Familiarity with CAD software and technical documentation standardsExperience managing government assets and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policiesExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsRelevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, NICET Fire Alarm Systems, ISA / IEC 62443, or CCST preferredPhysical Requirements :
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.Requirements :
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
