Tangent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving the cost-efficiency, quality, and scalability of our product lines. This role plays a key part in both new product launches and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with New Product Development teams to transition approved designs into scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with extrusion, tooling, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
  • Refine and scale manufacturing processes for both new and existing products.
  • Design, test, and install automated and manual manufacturing systems.
  • Analyze production requirements and optimize workflows, layouts, and equipment performance.
  • Lead initiatives such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP to support product development and launch.
  • Drive cost and lead time reduction by identifying and eliminating waste in production processes.
  • Plan and execute process improvement activities including Kaizen, A3, and Six Sigma projects.
  • Research and implement automation solutions to enhance production efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and ensure alignment with quality system procedures.
  • Coordinate with external extrusion partners to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve response times to defects and maintain high production quality.

Requirements : Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Assembly fixture design using Inventor or Solidworks with understanding of LMC and MMC
  • Hands On Robotic Automation Experience (preferably with Fanuc or ABB programming experience)
  • Experience moving products from design to manufacturing
  • Familiarity with DFM concepts
  • Hands On experience building samples and prototypes
  • AutoCAD Inventor or Solidworks
  • Microsoft Project or Asana
  • MasterCAM experience a big plus but not required
  • Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods working at a desk and computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
