Job Summary
This position would handle mechanical design for all Wilmington Machinery builds. Working hand-in-hand with controls and electrical engineering, you’ll create a fully integrated and functional machine. The ability to select mechanical and fluid power components, design electro-mechanical fluid power systems, create schematics, BOMs and use Autodesk Inventor software to document thoroughly are paramount. Troubleshooting, testing and floor support of the mechanical systems would be required.
Skills Required :
- Ability to design complex machinery to achieve the specifications given
- Understanding of the integration of mechanical systems, controls and hydraulic valving
- Ability to specify component requirements for a given machine concept (motors, pumps, etc.)
- Ability to specify mechanical component sizing considering safety factors and risk assessments
- Ability to create hydraulic schematics and BOMs
- Knowledge of PLC controls systems
- Troubleshooting, testing and production floor support
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite

Specify mechanical components for all machine buildsCreate and publish models, detailed drawings, hydraulic schematics and BOMsKeep up with redlines and revisions to aforementioned documents and publish to engineeringWork with controls and electrical engineering to deliver a fully integrated mechanical packageEnsure the company is operating in accordance with all relevant machine safety standardsCommunicate promptly and efficiently with colleaguesProvide production support for all mechanical and hydraulic systemsEducation and Experience Required :
Minimum 2-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering TechnologyMinimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical designExperience in controls integrationExperience with Autodesk Vault
