Platform Engineer
Location : Hartford, CT Charlotte, NC Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite)
Overview
Were building a modern platform engineering function to support a large enterprises move from on-prem to Azure. This role will help define and deliver an internal developer platform, working closely with engineering, security, and leadership to create scalable, reusable cloud solutions. Youll join a small, evolving team under new platform engineering leadership and have the opportunity to shape the vision, architecture, and tools we use.
What Youll Do
- Build and enhance the internal developer platform with a focus on developer enablement.
- Design scalable, reusable Azure-based platform solutions that support multiple teams.
- Develop and improve cloud-native CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Harness).
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practicescurrent state is Bicep, with interest in transitioning to Terraform.
- Contribute to the organizations container / Kubernetes (AKS) adoption.
- Partner with security and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and early involvement.
- Prototype, demonstrate, and implement platform capabilitiesnot just design them.
- Help shape the direction of a growing platform engineering team.
What Were Looking For
Proven experience in platform engineering, internal developer platforms, or developer enablement.Strong Azure expertise and hands-on cloud migration experience.Solid understanding of DevOps tooling, cloud-native pipelines, and IaC.Ability to think and operate like an architectdefine vision, solve unknowns, and execute.Strong collaboration skills and comfort operating in a fast-changing environment.Open to candidates who are more strategic / architectural or more hands-on / doer.
